Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia Melody Lee Violin Edmund Chung Viola

Melody Lee is playing on an 1804 Ceruti Violin on loan for her tenure at Colburn School of Music

She has received her BMus and is now working towards her Artisit Diploma at the  Colburn School of Music under the tutelage of Robert Lipsett,

Melody just completed a solo tour of Washington State and recorded for KING FM  for winning the Seattle Ladies Musical Club competition earlier in June.

Edmund has appeared twice as soloist with the Vancouver Symphony and won numerous competitions, awards and scholarships, including 1st Place at the National Canadian Music Competition  as well as winning Provincial Gold , Kiwanis, Burnaby Clef and many others.  Edmund has been awarded a gold certificate for community service in helping produce JOY as well as the designation Top Senior Philanthropist and "Super Hero" by the BC Children's Hospital Foundation.

Edmund has been featured in solo recitals for Vancouver Women's Musical Society, Burnaby Cleff, Vancouver Cherry Blosom Festival.  Edmund  learned to play the viola in three weeks! especially for this concert!

Edmund Chung performs on a turn-of-the-century Tedesco Violin.

Edmund not only performed with grace and artisitry at this concert , he was voted the Top Senior Philanthropist by BC Children's Hospital Foundation, winning the title of "superhero".

Edmund is currently completing a BScience at UBC, concurrently performing and organising concerts.

Melody Lee has won numerous competitions awards and scholarships during her studies in Vancouver under Toni Stanick, and has gone on with full scholarship at the Colburn School of Music under Robert Lipsett, winning many accolades and recognition, the latest being a concert tour of Washington State and recording with King FM.

Melody is playing an 1804 ceruti Violin on loan from the Mendel Foundation.

This is Melody's 2nd JOY of MUSIC concert.

Angelica, age 11, arrived in Vancouver in August 2011, and under the tutleage of Toni Stanick has won 1st place at the Coquitlam, Burnaby Clef and Festival on the Lake Competitions, and appeared at all of their showcase concerts. Angelica has also been fetured as solosist for the Burnaby Clef and Vancouver Women's Musical Club, Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival and at Dunbar heights United Church.

Angelica was awarded for being the top Junior Philanthropist by BC Children's Hospital Foundation

and has the title "superhero"  this is Angelica's 1st JOY of MUSIC concert.

Jesse Lu age 15, took up the bass in grade one, in his native Shangahi. Currently he attends Lord Byng and studies the bass with Ken Freidman. Jesse  participates in many orchestras in Vancouver.

Under the tutelage of Toni Stanick, Adora has won many scholarships  awards and competitions, including Richmond, Kiwanis, Burnaby Clef, Festival on the Lake and has performed in chamber music and soloist in recital throughout Vancouver.

Adora is currently in her 2nd year at McGill Schulich School of Music on scholarship under Mark Fewer,

Adora attended  the National Youth Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Jonathan Darlington,  Conductor and Music Director of the Vancouver Opera.

Tate has been featured three times as soloist  with the Vancouver Symphony, his last appearance was at Deer Lake in July 2011. Tate has won numerous competitions, awards, scholarships and accolades, he has been featured as soloist for the Vancouver Women's Musical Club, and was the youngest participant to be accepte at the Morningside Musicbridge summer program  in Calgary, where he won a scholarship to the Mount Royal College.Working with Mary Thompson in Vancouver he flies bi-monthly to Calgary for lessons with John Kadz.

This is Tate's 1st JOY of MUSIC.

Edmund has performed twice as solo violinist with the Vancouver Symphony

and has won all the top Municipal competitions, is a gold medal winner at the Provincials and a National Champion, winning 1st Place at the Canadian Music Competition in 2008.

Edmund has been a featured recitalsit for the Burnaby Clef Society and the Vancouver Women's Musical Society, Jericho Tennis Club, and JOY of MUSIC, performed as a guest artist for the Minister of Education.
